Why learn Herbal Energetics?
Herbal energetics is the tangible, objective and measurable effect of various factors in medicine. It incorporates the more subtle aspects of vibration and vital force, however, it is much more than this.
Herbal energetics is often the missing piece to the case puzzle. When you have analysed the disease presentation, underlying influences and pharmacology of the holistic understanding, and you sense the get you haven’t grasped the case fully, then look to the energetic model and it will fill in the gaps for you.
Using the energetics of hot, cold, dry and wet we can bring balance back to the fluids and tissues of the body and mind. These temperatures and influences are complexly multifaceted in themselves. Each has up to four potential degrees of influence as well as combinations. You won’t find a herb that is just hot. It is either hot and dry or hot and wet. The degree of these need to be factored in as well.
Energetics is the ethereal thread that ties the person together. It is their innate nature, their individual motivations and preferences and the way the tissues of their body responds. Understanding the predominant temperament or constitution will provide you with a background of why the disease presents a certain way.
Understanding the nature of the humours will provide a method of approaching the symptom presentation and how to restore balance to the body, mind and emotions. In complex cases, using an energetic approach will enable an initial sense of healing and restoration. It helps the client to better manage their symptoms as an individual, rather than a set disease found in a textbook.
Western Energetics and Humoral Theory is a complex understanding that takes time to integrate. Elizabeth has many years of experience applying and teaching this method and she makes it easy to understand, integrate and practice.
